Abstract
⺠Differences between spray cooling on flat and enhanced surfaces were investigated. ⺠The shadowgraph technique was used to accurately measure the droplet parameters. ⺠Heat transfer was enhanced for the enhanced surfaces compared with the flat surface. ⺠There is an optimal flow rate and optimal orifice-to-surface distance. ⺠The heat transfer increased with the surface roughness.
