Abstract
⺠Economic optimal power plants are determined by means of a multiperiod NLP model. ⺠Trends in the system behavior are identified. ⺠The original problem is reduced to a system of equations plus additional constraints. ⺠Accurate estimations of the optimal decision variables are efficiently obtained.
