Abstract
► The present study deals with thermodynamic and thermo-economic analysis of simple combined cycle power plant (CCPP), incorporated with gas turbine (GT) blade cooling by means of bleeding of compressed air, and compressor inlet air cooling by means of fogging. ► Compressor inlet air cooling by means of fogging has increased specific power output of all configurations due to increase mass flow rate of air and decrease the inlet temperature. ► The thermodynamic analysis has shown that simple gas turbine combined cycle using three pressure HRSG (SGTCC3P) configuration of simple CCPP incurs lowest operating cost per kWh power generation as determined in Fig. 19. ► For a given operating range of gas turbine inlet temperature (GTIT) and compressor pressure ratio (Cpr), the SGTCC3P configuration provides highest specific work and efficiency among all configurations.
