Abstract
- Two novel non-toxic fluorescent probes (Schiff-base-Cu2+ complexes) have been synthesized in solid (1) and in situ (2).
- In 100% aqueous medium, probes 1 and 2 exhibit unprecedented selectivity and rapid sensitivity for sensing cysteine (Cys) and gluthathione (GSH), respectively.
- Fluorescence swing from Cys to GSH for switchover from 1 to 2 is well established by various analytical evidences.
- Ratiometric responses and bio-imaging studies are analytically tuned in multi-cellular domain like nematode, Caenorhabditis elegans.
