Abstract
Letter-Number Sequencing, Figure Weights, and Cancellation are supplemental Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale, Fourth Edition subtests only for examinees ages 16:0-69:11. Scores and norms for these three subtests are not available for examinees ages 70:0-90:11. The decision to exclude these subtests for such populations is not adequately substantiated in the literature. The present study aims to investigate the factorial invariance and factor mean differences of the hierarchical model of the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale IV between Italian adults and elders when all 15 subtests are administered. The overall results from the present paper generally support both the configurational and factorial invariances of the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale IV. Therefore, the second-order Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale IV structure is equivalent across adults and elders.
