Abstract
This paper shows the outlook for skilled and unskilled workers in the States of the Northern Border region of Mexico (fnm) during the period 2005-2014. An exact decomposition of the Gini index using a cooperative game-approach is applied. A reduction in inequality in both groups of workers is explained within the groups with a share of 90%. The States of Coahuila and Sonora contribute with the greatest part to explain inequality for the group of skilled workers; while Nuevo Leon presents the highest wage-gap differences for the unskilled workers.
