Abstract
⺠Proposes methodologies to estimate short run impact of wind on electricity markets. ⺠Quantifies the merit order effect of wind generation on wholesale spot price. ⺠Wind is found to be significantly effecting gas fired generation. ⺠Evidence is found for wind having a notable impact on baseload coal generation. ⺠Discusses the implications for development of wind generation in Australia.
