Abstract
2-Acetylbenzimidazole benzoylhydrazone (NNO) was used as a chemical modifier for design carbon paste electrode of silver ion. The sensor exhibited a working concentration range of 1.1 × 10−7–1.0 × 10−3 M, with a near-Nernstian slope of 61.2 ± 0.5 mV/decade and detection limit of 7.0 × 10−8 M. It was found to be very selective, precise, and usable within the pH range 3.5–8.5 and possessed a fast response time of ~3 s. The proposed carbon paste electrode shows a very good selectivity for Ag(I) over a wide variety of metal ions. The modified electrode was successfully used for the determination of the silver content in burning cream and radiological films with satisfactory results
