Abstract
⺠This study examines the wholesale electricity market in Japan. ⺠Efficient market hypothesis is rejected. ⺠Prices of imported fuel do not Granger-cause the prices of electricity. ⺠The WTI prices and the exchange rates do not Granger-cause the power prices.
