Abstract
⺠We investigate the destabilisation of existing regimes and industries. ⺠We conceptualise destabilisation as a multi-dimensional and enacted phenomenon. ⺠We mobilise two historical cases of the British coal industry. ⺠We develop ten original lessons on destabilisation. ⺠We provide insights of relevance to transitions to low-carbon energy systems.
