Abstract
⺠China's high economic growth has lead to a huge amount of carbon emissions. ⺠Climate change calls for a low carbon economy in China. ⺠The pressure of carbon emission reduction requires China reduce the excessive dependency on coal and oil. ⺠Natural gas used in distributed energy system/combined cold, heat and power (NG DES/CCHP) is low in carbon emission. ⺠NG DES/CCHP is the optimal energy supplier for a low carbon economy in China.
