Abstract
⺠Trade-offs between consumer amenities and fuel consumption of new cars in Sweden. ⺠Methods: Statistical modeling, policy analysis and interviews. ⺠Until 2007 a majority of technological development is offset by consumer amenities. ⺠After 2005 a shift from gasoline to diesel and flex-fuels takes place. ⺠Policy change and environmental awareness result in a reversion of trends.
