Abstract
⺠The impact of electric vehicles and light rail is assessed at the local grid level. ⺠Electric vehicles will likely be clustered in certain parts of a city. ⺠Local grid capacity may be exceeded even with low penetration of electric transport. ⺠Electric vehicles have a smaller impact on the grid due to load shifting options.
