Abstract
⺠Gasoline demand is investigated as a function of structural breaks. ⺠It is price and income inelastic when structural breaks are ignored. ⺠However, it is price and income elastic with breaks triggering structural changes. ⺠Thus, excise tax should be adjusted periodically to count for structural changes.
