Abstract
⺠We investigate the energy-GDP nexus for Lebanon. ⺠Evidence of a bidirectional relationship both in the short- and the long-run is found. ⺠Reducing outages by expanding electric capacity should thus be prioritized. ⺠The energy plan calling for a 5% reduction in energy consumption needs to be revised. ⺠Development of domestic energy sources will help in mitigating energy supply shocks.
