Abstract
⺠This study investigates homeowner and tenant preferences for home energy efficiency. ⺠Landlords underestimate how cold rental properties are. ⺠Landlords are not willing to pay as much for insulation as owner-occupiers. ⺠Tenants are willing to pay higher rent for a better-insulated home. ⺠Landlords would pay the most for a heat pump but tenants prefer floor insulation.
