Abstract
⺠We investigate biomass cross-border trade related to bioenergy use in Austria. ⺠International biomass trade for energy has increased significantly in recent years. ⺠A flow wood diagram is derived to identify indirect trade streams of wood fuels. ⺠Biofuel feedstock imports are about as important as direct biofuel imports. ⺠33% of bioenergy in Austria originate from imported biomass (2009).
