Abstract
⺠Estimated EMS-related emissions less than 1% of health sector emissions. ⺠Damage costs of U.S. EMS-related emissions estimated at $2.7 to $9.7 million. ⺠EMS energy burden is approximately 442 MJ per ambulance response. ⺠Approximately 80% of EMS energy burden is vehicle fuels. ⺠Energy supply, price and policy could impact EMS (and other health) services. ⺠Research needed to facilitate health services' adaptation to a low carbon economy.
