Abstract
► This communication re-examines the persistence in natural gas consumption using an alternative methodology. ► When non-linearity is taken into account, we provide evidence in favor of hysteresis in natural gas consumption. ► In particular, positive policy shocks in natural gas consumption will have permanent effects.
