Abstract
⺠This paper assesses China's SO2 reduction policies between 2000 and 2010. ⺠Government used a variety of policy instruments to achieve emission targets. ⺠Experience shows that accountability, incentives, and political support were key. ⺠The policy lessons can aid future policies for SO2, NOx, and CO2 reductions.
