Abstract
⺠We examine Granger causality among oil consumption, GDP and oil price in Portugal. ⺠VECM and Toda-Yamamoto tests found bidirectional causality among oil and GDP. ⺠Portuguese economy does not support the crude oil conservation hypothesis.
