Abstract
⺠The paper provides a conceptual framework for how firms can assess regulatory risk. ⺠Risks are lower when regulators have greater autonomy from elected politicians. ⺠Risks are lower when policy-making processes are more 'rigid'. ⺠Firms can strategically mitigate regulatory risk in different types of environment.
