Mesoporous aluminosilicate molecular SBA-15, SBA-16, MCM-41 and MCM-48 were synthesized using standard procedures. The products were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), diffuse reflectance Fourier-transform infrared (DRIFT), nitrogen sorption and immersion microcalorimery. The walls of the mesopores are essentially crystallinity, and the local atomic arrangement is similar to that in amorphous aluminosilicates. On the other hand, the immersion enthalpies in solvents polar and non-polar are a function of the accessible area of each of mesoporous solids.
