Abstract
A novel rhodamine-based fluorescent turn-on probe for the detection of Pd2+ has been judiciously designed and developed. The probe exhibited a high selectivity and sensitivity towards Pd2+ with efficient fluorogenic and chromogenic responses under mild conditions. The detection limit is as low as 21 nM. Furthermore, the probe has been successfully applied to image of Pd2+ in living cells.
