Abstract
Novel styryldehydropyridocolinium derivative L was prepared and found to have low fluorescence quantum yield in water; however, upon addition of DNA, the fluorescence intensity increased by a factor of 60-fold. Meanwhile, it also showed rapid cellular uptake properties in cell imaging due to its cationic structure favored for cell membrane permeability.
Graphical abstractA novel cationic styryl dye with innate nature of low quantum yield and large stokes shift in water was prepared. It showed a large fluorescence enhancement upon binding to DNA and rapid cellular uptake properties in cell imaging.Figure optionsDownload full-size imageDownload as PowerPoint slide
