Abstract
The inter-organizational relationships have as a presupposition to allow the economical agents to answer, in a more effective way, the challenges imposed by the increasing comprehension of complexity. The present work has the aim of making the knowledge deeper and offering a more systemic comprehension on the theme with respect to the scientific production about inter-organizational relationships in Brazil. This way, by means of different types of inter-organizational relationships (networks, clusters, joint ventures and alliances), it was identified what has been published in recent years in the national journals (295 journals). It can be noticed that, in spite of the developments on the theme and the amount of works published, the results of the studies point to an incipient understanding about the subject. A large part of the studies is concentrated in the understanding and in the benefits of the initial participation of the organizations which are partnerships in the process of cooperation. Few studies give a greater focus on the processes of management, administration and consolidation of the inter-organizational relationships. It was also observed the necessity of longitudinal studies which focus both on the participant organizations and the originated institution, in the case of networks and joint ventures.
