Abstract
Polyelectrolyte/silver nanocomposites were prepared from copoly(TEAMPS/VP) and silver carbamate complex by heat treatment at 130 °C. The humidity sensors fabricated with the copoly(TEAMPS/VP) showed average impedances of 70.47, 16.84 and 0.52 kΩ, while those of the sensors made from the copoly(TEAMPS/VP)/Ag (w/w = 100/4) nanocomposites were 805.87, 146 and 0.61 kΩ at 30, 60 and 95% RH, respectively. The activation energies and complex impedance spectra for the nanocomposites with various silver contents were examined. The hysteresis, temperature and frequency dependence, and response time were measured and evaluated for the humidity-sensing membranes.
