Abstract
Recently we presented a novel sensor monitoring corrosion effects of lubrication, which relates corrosive material loss of thin metal films to an increase in resistance. In this contribution, we report about application aspects of the device, the investigation on the corrosion mechanisms, and a novel improved design for the read-out of corrosive material loss in order to account for all the identified mechanisms.
