Abstract
This article reports on a sensitive and interference free detection method for Sudan I based on an ordered mesoporous carbon (OMC) modified glassy carbon electrode (OMC/GCE) by differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). The OMC/GCE displayed good analytical performance for the measurement of Sudan I. Under the optimum experimental conditions, Sudan I could be linearly detected in the wide concentration range of 4.03 × 10−7 to 6.60 × 10−5 M with a high sensitivity of 453.8 μA mM−1. The detection limit was down to around 2.44 × 10−9 M (S/N = 3). Finally, the method was successfully applied for the determination of Sudan I in ketchup samples with satisfying results.
