Abstract
The nanostructured CdSnO3 thin films with particle size smaller than 5 nm were prepared by simple and cost effective ultrasonic spray pyrolysis (USP) technique. The structure, morphology and thickness of the films were analyzed by using XRD, SEM/EDS, TEM and Surface profiler. Experimental conditions were carefully optimized. Thin film based sensors were fabricated. The sensors were observed to be highly sensitive and selective toward VOC (volatile organic compound)—100 ppm of isopropanol vapors (S = 35,463) at 300 °C. Such a high isopropanol vapor response at relatively low temperature is an important finding of present investigation. Results are interpreted and discussed.
