Abstract
The article presents preliminary investigation on the LTCC (Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramics) chip with an integrated optical element. The structure is dedicated for DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) amplification and measurements. LTCC processing by laser pattering and machine cutting are analysed and compared. An external temperature management system for the LTCC chip and an optical DNA concentration measurement system compatible with the ceramic structure are described. The discussion about LTCC biocompatibility is presented. Result of DNA measurement in the LTCC chip is shown. The process of successful DNA amplification in LTCC chip is described.
