Abstract
A facile route was utilized to create a mesoporous ZSM-5 material (meso-ZSM-5), in which the initial synthesis step involves the soft aggregation of template occluded primary amorphous aluminosilicate particles into a mesoscopic colloidal material. Upon further processing, the primary amorphous aluminosilicate particles are transformed into ZSM-5 nanocrystals. Removal of the template generates the typical microporosity associated with ZSM-5 along with mesoporosity produced from the soft-packed ZSM-5 nanocrystals.
