Abstract
Organized mesoporous alumina was synthesized using 1-methyl-3-octylimidazolium chloride as a structure-directing agent. The synthesis was carried out with aluminum chlorohydrate as a source of aluminum in an aqueous medium. The surface areas of resulting materials are in the range of 260–270 m2/g and pore sizes exhibit a narrow pore distribution centered at 3.8–3.9 nm. Crystalline character of the pore walls of organized mesoporous aluminas formed by γ-alumina was proved.
