Abstract
324Using high resolution Scanning Kelvin Probe Force Microscopy (SKPFM), we show the origin of formation of 'nano-galvanic couples' on 'in situ' formed nano-aluminum amalgam surface in a water splitting system. Nanoscopic regions with different contact potentials form nano-galvanic couples in the presence of aqueous electrolyte.
