Abstract
► A two-step process (traditional reformer + membrane permeator) has been tested ► Hydrogen is produced in a high temperature reformer by methane auto-thermal reforming ► Ultra-pure hydrogen is separated by a Pd/Ag multi-tube membrane device ► Methane conversion of 86% is reached under reformer temperature of about 700 °C ► A hydrogen flow rate of 1.65 × 10−3 mol s−1 is got at a membrane temperature of 400 °C.
