Abstract
► Study provides an idea on biocatalyst interaction with anode based on electron discharge properties. ► Dominant growth of Gram positive bacteria on graphite's surface supported higher electron discharge. ► Nickel and stainless steel showed good bio-anode properties including microbial growth after graphite. ► Aluminum, brass and copper did not showed positive function to use as bio-anode. ► Results can be applied to all types of bio-electrochemical systems irrespective of their function.
