Abstract
In this paper, we report our studies on adsorption of 2,2-dimethylbutane as adsorbate in various zeolites. The time dependence of the adsorption capacity provides valuable information on the structure characteristics of zeolites to distinguish between large and medium pore zeolites. Novel zeolites IM-5 and SSZ-57 will be used as examples to demonstrate how to employ this technique to gain useful input for the determination of new zeolite structures. The effects of external surface on the adsorption behavior of zeolites will be discussed.
