Abstract
Engelhard titanosilicate (ETS-4) was successfully synthesized by microwave heating at 235 °C within 50 min. ETS-4 was synthesized using titanium(IV) butoxide as the titanium source. Microwave irradiation shortened the synthesis time considerably as compared to conventional heating which resulted in the rapid synthesis of ETS-4 in less than 1 h compared to 36–48 h for the traditional synthesis. Pulsed laser deposition and microwave treatment was also studied for the preparation of ETS-4 films on alumina.
