Abstract
Gallium(III) compounds with N-donor ligands were found to be competent catalysts for the epoxidation of alkenes by peracetic acid in water. The reaction conditions do not activate alcohols, ketones, or alkylhalides. Other common terminal oxidants in olefin epoxidation do not benefit from the addition of a Ga(III) catalyst.52
