Structural investigation of nickel(II) complexes with bidentate aminoether ligands in solution based on the electronic spectra

Based on their electronic spectra, the structures of [Ni(moen)2(DMF)2]2+ and [Ni(thfn)2(DMF)2]2+ [moen = 2-methoxyethylamine; thfn = 2-tetrahydrofurfurylamine; DMF = N,N-dimethylformamide] have been investigated. The weak ether oxygen donors are in trans-positions.
