Syntheses, structures and biological evaluation of some transition metal complexes with a tetradentate benzamidine/thiosemicarbazone ligand

The potentially tetradentate benzamidine/thiosemicarbazone ligand H2L forms stable transition metal complexes of the compositions [M(L)] (M = Ni, Pd, Pt) and [Re(OMe)(L)]·H2L. The oxidorhenium(V) complex show a considerably cytotoxicity, while the nickel, palladium and platinum complexes are almost inactive.
