Abstract
Four tributyltin(IV) complexes of general formula [SnBu3(LH)], where LH2 is an amino acid-derived Schiff base, have been obtained and characterized. X-ray structures have been determined for three compounds, revealing a five-coordinated tin(IV) atom with a polymeric chain, via carboxylate oxygen atoms. NMR studies in CDCl3 solutions pointed to tetra-coordinated species.
