Abstract
We describe the structural, electronic and magnetic properties of a cobalt(III) complex with a redox-active ligand (papl). This work represents the first reported structural data for any trivalent complex with papl. We investigate the electronic properties of this complex by cyclic voltammetry and UV-Vis spectroscopy and observe LMCT states not present in divalent complexes with papl reported earlier. We also investigate the variable temperature magnetic susceptibility of the complex and observe significant temperature dependent magnetic properties.
