Abstract
Four transition metal coordination complexes were prepared under hydrothermal methods by the reaction of 1,2,3,5-benzenetrtracarboxylic acid and four metal salts. In all four different complexes, the metal atoms are bridged by μ2-O-carboxylate atoms into dimers. The dimers connect dinuclear units into a two-dimensional sheet in complex 1, while in complexes 2-4, the dimers are bridged by carboxylate groups into metal carboxylate chains, and the ligands aggregate the one-dimensional chains into three-dimensional frameworks. The results show that both the coordination modes of the ligands and the transition metal ions play important roles in the final supramolecular structure.
