Abstract
Two heterometallic Mn/V complexes, (NH4)2[Mn2(HGly)(H2O)10][V10O28]·(HGly)·2H2O (1) and (NH4)2[Mn(β-HAla)(H2O)5]2[V10O28]·2H2O (2), have been prepared by a “direct synthesis” approach, and fully characterized by elemental analysis, single-crystal X-ray diffraction, cyclic voltammetry, magnetic susceptibility, FTIR and EPR spectroscopy. Complexes 1 and 2 have also been investigated as light-driven oxygen evolving water oxidation catalysts.
