Abstract
Three Schiff base complexes viz. [CuL2(H2O)](ClO4)2 (1), [Cu2L2(NCS)2(NO3)2] (2) and [CoL2(NCS)2] (3), where HLÂ =Â 2-{[pyridin-2-ylmethylidene]amino}benzenethiol, a tridentate Schiff base derived from 2-aminothiophenol and pyridine-2-al have been prepared and characterized. In addition to X-ray structural and other physicochemical studies, the complexes have been tested in vitro to assess their antibacterial activities.
