Abstract
Two novel coordination polymers of Cd(II) and Zn(II) have been synthesized by utilizing 1,3,5-tri(1H-benzo[d]imidazol-1-yl)benzene (TBIB) and carboxylate donor ligand 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid (H3BTC) consisting different dimensional structures. Both compounds show quenching of ligand fluorescence due to presence of non-coordinated water molecules leading to radiation-less decay.
