Abstract
Copper(II) complexes of 2-benzoylpyridine-N4,N4-dimethyl-3-thiosemicarbazone (HL) have been synthesized and physico-chemically characterized. Crystal structure of a binuclear copper(II) complex showed that the compound exhibits a distorted square pyramidal geometry with the basal plane occupied by thiosemicarbazone NNS donor atoms and the acetate oxygen. Acetate ions bridge two Cu(II) centers to form a centrosymmetric dimeric structure.
