Abstract
The tetraiminotetraphenol macrocyclic ligand H4L has been used to synthesize the iron (III) and manganese (III) complexes [Fe2L(NO3)2(H2O)2] (1), [Fe2L(Cl)2]â (2), [{Fe2L(μ-O)}2]·2CH3CN·H2O (3), [Mn2L(Cl)2]·3H2O (4) and [Mn2L(OAc)2]·5H2O (5). The structures of H4L, 3 and 4 have been determined. The redox activities of 1, 4 and 5 have been studied and variable temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements have been carried out for 3.
