Abstract
A new mixed-valence tetradecanuclear manganese complex [Mn14(μ4-O)4(μ3-OH)4(L)4(O2CPh)14(OMe)2]·2CH2Cl2 was synthesized by reacting [Mn6O2(O2CPh)10(DMF)4] and a Schiff ligand (H2L = N-salicylidene-o-aminophenol) in CH2Cl2/MeOH. Direct current (dc) magnetic susceptibility of the complex indicates intramolecular antiferromagnetic interactions between the metal ions. Further, the complex exhibits frequency-dependent out-of-phase signals in alternating current (ac) magnetic susceptibility measurements, indicating slow magnetic relaxations.
